Some have tried different skincare products, yet it just seems they can’t get it right. But did you know that there are simple and essential skincare routines that can give you that natural, glowing skin? Absolutely!

A daily practice of the right skin regimen will give you that lush, desired skin. However, you need to firstly know the kind of skin you have. Do you have a dry skin? (your skin feels cracked, parched and tight), an oily skin? (your T-zone, that is, the forehead, nose and chin is greasy and shiny), combination skin (greasy T-zone with a dry cheeks and jaw), normal skin (neither oily nor excessively dry skin) and sensitive skin (red, inflamed and itchy skin). Knowing your skin type will help you in choosing the appropriate skincare products.

Check out these essential skincare routines every woman should observe to have that natural, glowing skin;

Cleanse Your Skin Twice Daily with Water

When you wake in the morning, cleanse your skin with water. At night, you do a full cleansing in which you remove makeup and dirt on the face.

Use Hydrosol as a Toner

This is mostly for your morning skincare routine. Hydrosol used as a toner is beneficial for the skin. Hydrosols are nature in its purest form, and they are gentle on the skin. Hydrosols can be used with essential oils such as rose, orange or lavender. They help soothen the skin, and are used to tackle minor skin irritations.

Exfoliate

Exfoliation is important for your skin, however, ensure you use mild exfoliators. You can either use a physical (face scrub) or a chemical exfoliator (face acids). When choosing a physical exfoliator, go for one that is not harsh on your skin; in selecting a chemical exfoliator, go for products that contain Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs). Exfoliation makes your skin look brighter, prevents clogged pores, resulting in fewer breakouts.

Home-made Skincare Remedies

There are some home-made skincare remedies that can help improve your skin. For example, you can microwave about 2 to 3 cups whole milk until it’s warm. Then pour into a bowl and allow your hands to soak for 5 to 10 minutes to enable fats from the milk to hydrate and nourish your skin. You can also make your own berry face mask. To do this, you crush ripe blueberries and then mix with lemon juice, cucumber juice, baking soda and water. You then apply on your face and leave for about twenty (20) minutes and then rinse with warm water.

Exercise

Regular exercises help to improve blood circulation, provides oxygen and nutrients to the skin, keeps the skin glowing and prevents quick aging. You should however, not engage in excessive outdoor exercises so the sun will not potentially cause damage to your skin. Indoor exercises such as pushups, yoga, potato workouts, kick boxing-style workouts, plank, walking upstairs, jumping jacks, squats and lunges can help in improving your skin.
